Solo piping contest
Eighty pipers from throughout New Zealand came to Christchurch during Labour Day week-end to Sin the Canterbury HighPiping Society’s solo piping competition. Wellington entrants dominated the A grade events, a
father and son, John and Allister Hanning, winning prizes in five of seven sections. The competition was held at St Andrew’s College, and judged by Mr I. McKay, of Wellington.
