Market opens quietly
The New Zealand sharemarket began the short trading week on a quiet, steadv note yesterday. Falls edged out rises as trading remained unaffected by trends in overseas markets. The N.Z.D.C. fl ™ ed lb points, but this was not strongly reflected in market leaders. Ba 11ms Rattra) Fletcher Challenge, N.Z. Forest Products. New Zealand Steel and Yates Corporation were among the falls. The rises included Brierley. Dalget) i w Zealand. Goodman, and TNL Group. BNZ Finance was steady at 31uc ahead of its excellent profit announcement.
