Effects of TV?

Sir,—Two boys aged 10 learnt how to “bomb up" a place from a TV programme. This report (“The Press." October 14) will come as no surprise to parents. While experts argue back and forth the influence of TV on behaviour, parents know children learn in. a large part through imitation. Programmes such as the one involved this time, “Code Red,” have no intrinsic value of any kind. I am not concerned with the sexual input in our TV programmes. Children raised lovingly will hopefully grow up ready to love ‘others. I am deeply concerned about the programmes which centre on violence and mindless destruction.—Yours, etc., JILL WILCOX. October 14, 1982.
