Production of berryfruit up
The production of berryfruit in Canterbury has risen from 73 tonnes in 1977 to 1700 tonnes in 1982. Ninety-nine new berryfruit units have been established in Canterbury, between the Conway and Rangitata rivers, during the last five years. Black currants have been the crop with the greatest increase in that time.
