Ambassador named

PA Wellington New Zealand's next Ambassador to Italy will be a career diplomat. Mr Gordon Parkinson, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr Cooper, announced vesterdav.

Mr Parkinson, aged 47. joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1956’ Since then he has worked in San Francisco. Singapore. Bangkok. Paris, and Lima, where he was Ambassador from 1978 to 1980.
