Middle East problems
Sir, — My feelings on hearing news of the massacres were utter despair, sadness and indescribable anger. Tears well in my eyes still as I form a vivid mental picture of wideeyed, crying, screaming refugees standing paralysed with fear against a wall knowing that soon they too will feel the pain of bullets tearing through their skin. The De Facto Forces (Christian Militia) carry Israeli weapons and orders. The Israelis, not content with taking Palestine and pushing the Palestinian refugees into Lebanon, had to follow them into .Lebanon and massacre them savagely. A quote from Moshe Dayan (July 1968): “This is not the end. for after the present cease-fire lines, there will be new lines, but they will extend beyond the River Jordan, maybe to Lebanon and perhaps to Central Syria as well.” If the Israelis are not stopped soon then Moshe
Dayan's quote could well become reality. — Yours, etc.. D. A. ROBINSON. October 2, 1982.
