NZPA - Santiago Experts from 15 countries, including New Zealand, yesterday initiated a three-day seminar on the future of Antarctica at the Chilean base of Roduifo Marsh, the Foreign Ministry said. About 50 scientists and diplomats left Santiago by Chilean Air Force plane for the base, which is in an area
of Antarctica claimed by Chile. •■< The Chilean Air Force and Foreign Ministry have sponsored the three-day seminar, with the United States Tinker Foundation. Topics will include the state of scientific exploration and international co-opera-tion for the exploitation ot the Antarctic's vast natural -«<nnrces.
