Market remains firm
Trading on the New Zealand sharemarket slowed a little yesterday, but the volume was higher than the recent average and prices were firm. Of the stocks traded. 24 rose and 18 fell. The 919.195 shares which changed hands were worth $1,421,516. Few moves stood out. B.H.P. regained the 40c it gave up on Thursday. Smith-Biolab rose 7c to 145 c, and the infrequently traded Selby rose 15c. A.N.Z. lost 8c to 302 c. Building suppliers stocks were weaker on balance, and motor industry shares were also easier.
