NZPA Buenos Aires China. Italy. South Korea and Canada all scored wins on the opening night of the tenth world men’s volleyball championships. China had to fight harder than expected to beat France 15-10. 15-5. 17-15. in the first match of Group E. and South Korea, one of the favourites to qualify for the second round, needed an extra set to see off Finland 1644, 15-12. 14- 15-11 in their match. Group C matches got underway with Italy scorching to an emphatic 15-1, 15-1, 15-8 win over Australia. .Canada overpowered East Germany 15- 15-6, 15-10 in the second match.
