Woman M.P. given pair

PA Wellington The Opposition has granted a permanent pair during Iqte sittings of Parliament to the Government member for Selwyn, Miss Ruth Richardson, who is expecting a baby in March. It means Miss Richardson will not have to remain at Parliament when it sits past 10.30 p.m. Explaining the move, the Senior Opposition Whip, Mr J. L. Hunt, said yesterday that it would be unfair to expect Miss Richardson to remain in the debating chamber throughout very late sittings. He first offered the pair during Wednesday night's 11hour sitting of the House, which ended at 3.30 a:m. on Thursday.
