The defending men’s and women's champions, Sparta (Auckland) and Canterbury University, respectively, were among the unbeaten teams after the opening rounds of the New Zealand club volleyball championships at the Pioneer Stadium, Christchurch, yesterday. - In a feature men's match, Sparta beat one of the pre--tournament favourites, Rongotai, 3-0. Results: Men: Rongotai (Wellington) beat Smash (Christchurch). 3-0; Tauranga beat Porirua. 3-0; Christchurch Teachers' College beat Trafalgar (Nelson), 3-1; Rampress. (Auckland) beat Kings (Otago). 3-2; Sparta (Auckland) beat Smash, 3-1; Skellerup Canterbury University beat Porirua, 3-0; University Northcote beat - Trafalgar,
