Council withdraws charges

Three charges brought by the Paparua County Council against a West Melton man, and three similar charges against his wife alleging their having used a caravan as a dwelling house in breach of the; county's operative district scheme, were withdrawn by the council in the District Court yesterday. council. The two had denied the charges, which were to have been heard at a defended fixture yesterday, before Judge Bradford. However, Mr T. M Abbott, who appeared for the council, asked for the withdrawal of the charges. He said steps • had been taken-by the defendants since the charges were laid. The defendants were represented by Mr R. J. McMurtrie.
