Mr J. F. Hutchinson
A leading Christchurch auctioneer and valuer. Mr John Francis Hutchinson, died last week. He was 83. Mr Hutchinson attended Christchurch Boys' High School. One of his schoolmates was the late Mr Fred White, with whom he later founded the partnership of Hutchinson White. Ltd. The firm opened the Railway Auction Rooms and continued to function as real
estate agents and auctioneers until Mr Hutchinson took over the auction rooms and Mr White the real estate business. Mr. Hutchinson became a public valuer after retiring from full-time business. He was respected in business circles for his integrity, kindness, and helpfulness. Mr Hutchinson is survived by two sons and a daughter.
