NZPA Athens The former Olympic champion. Jacek Wszola. of Poland, missed the high jump final at the European athletics championships after a dispute with team officials over which shoes he wore, sources close to the team
said. Wszola. who won the high jump at the 1976 Olympics and was second in 1980. wanted to wear his own brand of shoes and not those being worn by the rest of the Polish team, the sources said.
