Possible mix-up
PA Auckland Inquiries are being made into suggestions that the wrong horse may have run in a race at Matamata yesterday. The racecourse inspector for the Waikato district, Mr Brian McKenzie, said last evening that inquiries into a posible mix-up were continuing.
According to the racebook the horse finishing second in the Glen Orchard Maiden was Rangong Star, an eight-year-old roan mare by Rangong from Starwine, trained at Te Aroha by Clarry and Elaine Robinson. But inquiries made after the race indicated that the horse may have been Star of Rangong. a four-year-old gelding by Rangong from Always Rushing. ■ The horse running as Rangong Star went out 16-16 in the betting and paid a dividend of $13.20. The racp quinella with the favourite Honourer paid $92.20.
