Planning Council post
PA Wellington Mr John Clarke, formerly chairman of the Woolßoard, has been appointed to the new eight-member Planning Council. Mr Clarke, a farmer at Clinton, in South Otago, is a director of the Shipping Corporation. The Government also has reappointed three members of the old council, .Mesdames Kerrin Vautier and Peggy Koopman-Boyden, and Mr Alf Kirk. Two other new members already named are the chair-
man, Mr lan Douglas, direc-tor-general of the Manufacturers’ Federation, and the deputy chairman, Professor Conrad Blyth. head of the economics department at Auckland University. The Minister of National Development, Mr Birch, and Secretary to the Treasury. Mr B. V. Galvin, will continue on the council as exofficio members. The council, formerly a 24member body, will take office on October 1 if legislation before the House. is passed. ,
