Firmer sale for opossum skins
PA Dunedin The market at an opossum skin auction in Dunedin on September 2 was 10 per cent firmer than at the first sale of the season, in July. The total offering of 125.603 furs was cleared. Most of the furs were early to mid-winter varieties. Prices: Grade Large: red brown, $9; dark brown. $14.82: red neck. $7; rusty, $7; pale, $9.60; grey, $13.60. Medium to large: red brown. $5.25; dark brown. $8.35: rusty, $4.75; pale. $7.42; grey $9.17. Medium: dark. $6.20; light, $5.20.
Grade 2.— Large: $7.37; dark brown. $9.14; red neck. $5.70; rusty, $5.65; pale. $6.55; grey. $7.90. Medium to large: red brown. $4.80; dark brown. $7.18; red neck. $4.15; rusty. $4.07: pale, $6.93: grey. $7.68. Medium: dark. $2.95: light, $3.71. Small: dark. $1.78; light. $2.47. , Grade 3.— Large: red brown. $4.65; dark brown. $6.15; red neck. $3.70; rusty; $3.55; pale. $4.35; grey. $7.15. Medium to large; red' brown. $2.70; dark brown, $3; red neck, $3.55; rusty $2.66: pale. $3.16; grey. $4.66. Grade 4.— Fourths: dark. $1.97; light, $2.32.
