Plan to turn school into brothel
NZPA-Reuter Huddersfield An application to turn a Sunday school into a brothel is perplexing town planners. A British businessman, Anthony Porter, recently applied to turn the Sunday school from a centre for weekly religious education into accommodation for students. But the Kirklees Metropolitan Council planning committee turned down the proposal because the building in Huddersfield lacked a car park. Then Mr Porter came up with his idea of a brothel. The lack of parking space would not be a problem he said, since customers would prefer to park at a discreet distance.
He also argued that the project would alleviate unemployment and provide work for two men and 15 girls. “This is a serious application,” said Mr Porter, who believes that a brothel is the only way ■ of meeting the heavy expenses of maintaining the building.
