Dental scheme
A new private dental care benefit scheme has begun in New Zealand, to help its subscribers meet the cost of dental bills. It will be run by a private medical insurance company, the New Zealand Blue Cross Medi-Care Society Mr Gerald Ryan, chairman and founder of the society, said that the new scheme, called Denta-Care, offered its members a flat refund for.' dental Work. ' ~
Some dental work, such as oral examinations, fillings, restoration work, and cleaning and polishing, had a set refund. The refund should cover most of the cost of most dental work, The scheme would cost $1 a week for a single person, $2 a week for a couple, and $3 for a family. It would not overtake the Health Department dental .scheme, which • covered the cost of dental work for children at school.
