POSITION EARTH STATION ENGINEER/TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should be qualified and experienced engineers or senior technicians capable of working under minimum supervision to provide a high standard of maintenance on complex modern telecommunications equipment. SALARY: Australian dollars 10,481 - 12,104. EXPERIENCE: The appointee will be expected to maintain and operate a standard 'B' station working to an Intelsat Satellite and should have been recently engaged for at least 18 months on Earth Station Maintenance. He should be fully conversant with Intelsat procedures. He will be expected to be able to cover all aspects of the equipment, including but . not limited to, High Power Amplifiers, low noise receivers, Servos, Modulators and Demodulators. He should be familiar with PCM/PSK techniques and FDM/TDM equipment. He should also have a working knowledge of other IMC. CONDITIONS: Appointment is for two years and may be renewed by mutual consent. Recreation leave granted at the rate of eight weeks at the completion of twenty months service. Fares for appointee and dependants under eighteen years of age will be paid to and from Nauru on appointment, leave and completion of service. Freight entitlement 4'/z cubic metres for married appointee and two cubic metres for single appointee by sea. Heavy furniture is supplied, electricity, water and local telephone calls are provided free. Mess facilities are provided for single appointee at $12.00 (Australian Dollars) per month or on casual basis if preferred. Housing is provided at minimal rental. $lO- - per month for married appointees. $5-6.00 per month for single appointees.
