PREQUALIFICATION OF TENDERS INSTALLATION OF RAILWAY SIGNALLING SYSTEM Submissions are invited from companies interested in tendering for the design, supply, delivery, installation testing and commissioning of a signalling system when the Chief Signals and Communications Engineers Specification is released in November 1982. Specification will only be issued to .companies who have been notified of successful prequalification. The system is required in connection with the North Island Main Trunk electrification and comprises new signalling provision and some immunisation of existing signalling over a route length of approximately 410kms. The works are to be divided into three geographical areas and the tenders to be invited are initially for the section from Palmerston North to Taihape with a CTC office at Taumarunui. Firms will be given three months to consider the Specification and Conditions of Contract and submit their offers ivo extension of time will be granted for submission of offers after the published closing date. Firms will; however, be given the opportunity to visit the site of the works during October. A Fee of NZ$5O.OO will be ’charged for each copy of th'e specification when they are issued.
