No advice on duty
Parliamentary reporter The Minister of Education, Mr Wellington, has denied that his department provided any advice or recommendations to the Customs Department on whether to impose a dumping duty on Apple II computers. He was answering a question in Parliament about whether he or his department Had been consulted by the Customs Department before the decision was made to impose the $B2O dumping duty on Apple II computers offered to schools at a special rate. “I was' not consulted by the Customs Department before a decision was made.” Mr Wellington said. “My department was asked for and provided information about micro-computers in secondary schools?'
