Unused classrooms survey
Parliamentary reporter The Education Department is preparing information on how many portable or relocatable classrooms are under-used, not used for teaching, or surplus to school requirements, within a 160 km radius of Christchurch. The information was expected to be available by
August 25, said the Minister of Education (Mr Wellington). He was. replying to a question in Parliament by Mr M. K. Moore (Lab., Papanui). There were about 230 schools within the area, he said. It would take the department some time to gather the detailed information involved.
