NZPA-Reuter London A superb spell of accurate leg spin from Abdul Qadir. of Pakistan, supported by some fiery fast bowling by’lmran Khan and Sarfraz' Nawaz, demolished the England first innings on the third day of the second cricket test at Lord’s on Saturday. When bad light stopped play England was 226 for nine, still three short of avoiding the follow-on. after Pakistan had declared its first innings at the overnight total of 428 for eight. The England batsmen struggled throughout the day after the tall Sarfraz had bowled the openers, Chris Tavare, for eight and Derek Randall for 29.
