PA Wellington Fuel tax Changes detailed last week in the Budget are -expected to increase road _ haulage charges. The Road Transport Association has filed an application for a 1 per cent rise in town sector charges and a 2 per cent increase on coun--try routes. , ■ ’’ The executive director of the association, Mr Dion Savage. said the application was < triggered by higher diesel taxes; He expected a decision from the Ministry of Transport tomorrow. crease the price of compressed natural gas by about 1c a litre, l.p.g. about five . cents and petrol one cent. Present fuel prices, with : pre-Budget prices in parentheses, are: Premium petrol. 71c a litre (68c); regular petrol 68c (65c); diesel 58.5 c (51.8 c - marine . diesel 44.5 c (40.2 c ‘ C.N.G. 32 to 39c a litre equivalent; and l.p.g. 39c on average. ' The y, changes were triggered bv adjustments to introduce the Governments 15 per cent wholesale tax policy on fuels to cut imports and boost the use of indigenous supplies. . i
