Nelson skier breaks legs
A young Nelson girl broke both ’ her legs after being; thrown from, a rope tow on the new Rainbow ski-field near Lake Rotoiti on Sunday. Georgina Westbury, aged 10. was being towed’ to the top of the learner's slope when the tow's electrical switch malfunctioned. The tow stopped suddenly, and the girl was thrown to the
ground. She was later flown bv helicopter to Nelson Hospital. A young woman was taken by helicopter to Hagley Park, then by ambulance to Christchurch Hospital, after a fall at Mount Hutt ski-field on Sunday. The woman, whose name and condition were unavailable. suffered leg injuries.
