Some.The “basic script" style of handwriting (bottom) which will be phased into primary schools over the next few years, subject to the approval of the Minister of Educaton (Mr Wellington). Surveys of school pupils have shown that the basic script is faster, more legible and easier to learn than the “Palmer cursive” script (top) used at present. If introducted, the script would be the first standard handwriting style to be used in all primary schools.
