Sightseeing by taxi
Be friendly and courteous and respect Fijian traditions; they appreciate friendliness. Take a taxi for a look around; your driver will be informative and helpful in explaining many sights, traditions and customs. Eat in a reputable restaurant or hotel, and avoid uncooked foods such as lettuce or fruits which cannot be peeled. Be particular about what and where you drink.
Before leaving New Zealand, check the prices of any duty-free goods you wish to buy in Fiji. Make sure that electrical appliances are compatible with New Zealand’s 240 volt power supply and that guarantees remain valid outside of Fiji. Finally, when returning, be honest with Customs and Agricultural officers. Have a happy holiday.
