Bowls title retained

Canterbury beat South Canterbury 33-23, in an . indoor bowls match for the Jackson Trophy at the Kearneys Road Hall on Saturday.

The contest, held under special conditions of four men and four women to a team, was won by Canterbury for the fifth successive year. In a day of closely contested games, South Canterbury made a determined bid by winning three of the second round pairs. However, Canterbury held onto the win five of the last round singles to retain the trophy.. Results:— Canterbury names first:
