W.-Bush beats Waikato

PA Hamilton Wairarapa-Bush struck a bold blow for remaining in the first division of the national rugby championship at Hamilton’s Rugby Park on Saturday, beating Waikato, 19-15, with a spirited forward display.

Wairarapa-Bush’s loose forward trio of Carl Baker, Dudley and Paul Hawkins, ruled the roosf in the loose and its tight men often outmauled their powerful opposition.

Scorers: Wairarapa-Bush 19 (Graeme Anderson, Merv Dudley, -Andy Earl tries.' Charlie Kaka conversion, Stephen Hurley conversion, pen. goal); Waikato 15 (Chris Ellis try, Andy Baker conversion, three pen, goals).
