Sir, — After, reading Mr Terry Carter’s reply to your correspondent, M. A. Barnett (August 2), I decided to write
and tell you that I agreed with M. A. Barnett because I felt that the “Eye Witness" programme team cut Mr Gair’s words when he said “with all due respect” to the channel that he thought the previous evening's broadcast had been biased. The "Eye Witness" team seem to delight in reporting in such a way that a number of viewers become indifferent. On the other hand, I feel there are some New Zealanders who are capable of making their own decisions and do not rely on the “Eye Witness” programme for the real facts. Hopefully Karen Simmand David Beatson will learn a lesson from Mr David Frost and Mr Parkinson and remain unbiased. I wonder what the result would be if David Beatson and Karen Simm were interviewed by political parties. — Yours, etc., A. GRIFFIN.. August 3, 1982.
