New stable for mare

Westport reporter

The race mare. Another Jet, at the centre of the disqualification of her Woodend trainer last week, will be trained at Westport from now on.

The owner-trainer, Graham Thomson. was disqualified for one year after being found guilty of corrupt practice involving Another Jet at the Westport Jockey Club’s meeting in May.

He was given two weeks to dispose of any interest he may have in any race horse and directed to pay $5OO towards the cost of the inquiry.

Part-owned by' Mr and Mrs R. K. McDonald, of Westport, Another Jet is to be transferred to the McDonalds and will be trained at Westport by Mr McDonald.

■ In a report in “The Press” last week, it was stated that Mr Thompson was not present during the hearing by the West Coast District Committee. This should have read that he was not represented.
