Association

A City Mall Association has been established to handle the administration of the 261 stores in the mall. The manager is Mr Bill Stevens who has the responsibility of ensuring that the mall functions smoothly. Prior to this, Mr Stevens was manager of a Paraparaumu store for 13 years and was also a director of the New Zealand Retailers’ Federation. It was with this background in retailing that Mr Stevens applied for the posi-

tion, regarding it as a job challenge. He considers the mall unique for New Zealand, because of its sheer size and diversity of stores. “I feel sure that the mall will develop a character of its own,” Mr Stevens says. “Lunch-time recitals, use of the mall by sports and cultural groups will help to give the mall its own special flavour. “We will be encouraging its use summer and winter,” Mr Stevens says.
