Easy game for United?
■ Christchurch Mogal United will surely avenge its 0-1 loss to East Coast Bays earlier this season when the pair meet in a return Rothmans league soccer encounter in Auckland tomorrow. United, riding the crest of its recent Adidas Chatham Cup successes, is in a confident, goal-scoring mood and should have too many guns for the relegation-bound Bays. Ironically, Bays, has not won a match since a lastminute penalty allowed it to sneak a win against United, at English Park on May 9.
The only player not available for the United squad’s trip north is a defender, Alan South, who has a dose of the mumps. The Christchurch coach, Terry Conley, would- be happy with a point from the game because that would take his team's league tally for the year to 18 — enough in previous seasons to ensure safety from relegation: “But it would be nice to pick up two,” he added. An away win for United a week before its Cup semifinal against Wellington's National Mutual Miramar
would also round off a good build-up. “It’s now very important that we continue to do well in the league and the Cup because there is a very good chance we can win it (the Cup),” he said:. In the Hertz regional league, Rangers needs only to beat the lowly Burndale to virtually sew up the competition with four rounds remaining. The match between the teams lying third and fourth in the competition at present, Woolston and Cashmere Wanderers respectively, should be the highlight of the remaining games.
