Christchurch City District Noxious Plants Authority. | PI.EASE NOTE: Under the provisions of the Noxious Plants Act : 1978 and-’or the approved policy of the Christchurch i District Noxious Plants Authority: ’(1) OCCUPIER in relation to any land means the i leasee, licensee or other occupant of the land, and includes the owner or agent of the owner. ; where there is no apparent occupier. (2) APPEALS (Section 52) Any person who is affected by this notice may appeal in writing against the requirements • of this notice within FOURTEEN (14) days after this public notification on the grounds that the requirements are unreasonable. Every appeal shall be accompanied by a fee of $lO and forwarded to the Christchurch District Noxious Plants Authority. P.O. Box 237. Christchurch. (4) RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTROL NOXIOUS PLANTS The occupier of any land within Christchurch City is responsible for the eradication of i any noxious plant growing on that land: also to the centre line of any public or private road or right-of-way within the extended boundaries of the land.'in the case of unoccupied land, the owner shall be deemed to be the occupier. 1(5) OFFENCES AND PENALTIES (Section 56)

Everj' occupier who fails or neglects to comply with any notice issued under the Act. which’ is not cancelled or suspended under Section 52 (by appeal) commits an offence and where the offence concerns a Class "B" noxious plant is liable to a fine not exceeding $2500 or. where the offence is a continuous one $l5O for every day or part of a day during which the offence continues.
