Betty Adios picked for Kurow Cup

A run at the Ashburton trials on Tuesday should prove to have been enough to bring Betty Adios to a sufficiently high peak of fitness to win the Kurow Cup at Oamaru on Monday. Betty Adios will start from 10m in a big field which includes a number of highlyrated pacers. Commander Grattan has speed, but he is most inconsistent. to say the least. A bold run at ’the Ashburton trials on Tuesday showed that he is well forward. Should he get his "act" together. he should win this race quite comfortably.

Loyal Onedin. Blueberry Hill.’ Spinstar and Van Mac Faber will have to be considered, while a big run from Mesopotamia would not be a complete surprise.
