The Club is an acknowledged leader in an extensive industry and the person appointed will need to have a record of outstanding practical achievement in the control of racing with a major racing body. It is envisaged that a minimum of 10 years field experience is an important prerequisite. The Chairman of Stewards is responsible to the Chief Executive for the control and monitoring of all meetings involving Ascot and Belmont racecourses and numerous country tracks all of which come under the control of the W.A.T.C. Great importance is placed on a complete knowledge of the rules of racing coupled with the ability to administer all aspects of a race meeting. Other responsibilities include licence investigation, liaison with various authorities; Steward deployment and development, administrative reporting and to conduct all relevant enquiries.
