W.E.A. funds

Sir.—Mrs D. M. Gibbs (August 3.). has chosen to take my comments re mean-spirited attitudes to W.E.A. educational opportunities personally. I was commenting generally on attitudes which deny any sector of the populace access to such opportunities. Certainly an equal emphasis must be put on evening courses, but courses must be well patronised to be viable. I attend day-time classes because of ill-health. I find the meeting of minds between different age groups exciting, and feel also our senior citizens have much to offer us. However the W.E.A. is used, the most important aspect is that it should continue to thrive for the benefit of all. - Yours, etc., JILL WILCOX. August 3. 1982.
