Budget coverage on TV and radio
People who prefer to watch television instead of listening to the presentation of the Budget will be able to do so. A spokesman for TVNZ said yesterday that the main features of the Budget tonight would be superimposed on the screen, on both channels, as they were announced in the House. “Eyewitness News” (on
9.30 p.m. on Two) would be extended slightly to provide coverage of the Budget. All National programme radio stations will cross to the House for the presentation of the Budget by the Minister of Finance (Mr Muldoon) at 7.29 tonight. The Budget will be followed by a news bulletin summarising its main points. Then there will be a “Checkpoint” special analysing the Budget.
