Sumner services
Sir,—l thank Mr Gray for the courtesy of a reply (July 29) but in no way do I find it satisfactory. A skip in September? One skip in approximately nine months, and this is considered service? I would also give credit to hill residents assuming that they would not begrudge leaving their recyclables at a convenient place' on the flat in order to relieve themselves of their small mountain of materials. Might I also remind Mr Gray that Sumner was indeed the trial suburb determining the success of the scheme in the first place, what a turnaround. As for all the posters and advertising materials we certainly do receive, I agree, they do indeed contain a rider, but why waste ratepayers’ money byeven delivering them to places that do not receive the service? Insult indeed. My final challenge to the City Council. Theirs is now one. of fear of materials from this area. A reduction in rates is the next obvious move. — Yours, etc., THERESE M. C. CAREY (Mrs). July 29, 1982.
