PA Wellington The reports of the Public Trust Office and the Council for Post-Graduate Medical Education were presented when Parliament sat at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. Members put nine notices of motion. The Customs Orders Confirmation Bill was introduced by the Minister of Customs (Mr Allen). Ministers answered - 17 questions. The Opposition was denied an adjournment debate on the Prime Minister’s comments to the Controller and Auditor-General. The Opposition was granted an adjournment debate on ebbing water flows at the Whakarewarewa geothermal reserve, and this continued until the 5.30 p.m. dinner adjournment. When the House resumed at 7.30 p.m., the Geraldine Borough Council (Lump Sum Contributions) Empowering Bill was read a second time, and the Thames-Coromandel District Council (Lump Sum Contributions) Empowering Bill was passed through its committee stages and given a third reading. The clause-by-clause debate on the Broadcasting Amendment Bill was interrupted when the House adjourned at 10.30 p.m.
