Barry Sheene injured

NZPA-Reuter Silverstone, England The former 500 c.c. motorcycling world champion. Barry Sheene, of Britain, and a Dutchman, Jack Middelburg, were injured in a' highspeed pile-up during unofficial practice for Sunday's British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Sheene, making his first outing on the new V 4 Yamaha, suffered a broken arm, broken leg and conscussion when his machine hit

the bike of a Frenchman. Patrick Igoa. who crashed in front of him at the 200 km h Abbey Curve section of the track. The Briton was thrown across the track as his Yamaha burst into flames. Middelburg. winner of last year's British .Grand Prix, became the third casualty when he struck Sheene and hurtled off the track. Middelburg suffered a suspected broken leg while Igoa broke his collar bone.
