'Oklahoma’ opening
The iChristchurch Teachers’ College theatre group will 'open its “lively and fun-filled" production of "Oklahoma" this evening in the Teachers’ College auditorium. The leading characters in the show, which was Rodgers and Hammerstein’s first successful Broadway musical, are Brent Ingram. Liz Emeleus. Alan Pierson. Mandy Drummond and Carron Cossens. They will be supported by a cast of 50 actors, dancers and singers and by a full orchestra. The production, which will run until July 31, has been directed by Ron Barrow. with Graeme Wallis as the musical director. “Oklahoma,” which is enjoying a popular revivial in London and Australia,, was first produced on Broadway in 1943. Bookings can be made at the Teachers' College or at the Christchurch Town Hall booking office.
