Intruders’ damage: $35,000
PA Auckland Intruders left a fire hose spewing water after smashing their way through a North Shore office at the week-end, causing damage estimated at $35,000. Staff at Air Logistics, an aerial surveying firm, spent Monday lifting waterlogged carpets and clearing out broken fittings. . .. Detective Senior-Sergeant Trevor Tozer, of the Takapuna C. 1.8., said, parts of computers and typewriters had been smashed and thousands of the firm's negatives strewn about the building. Six special cameras worth a total of $12,000 were stolen. The ’ office manager, -.MrRoss . Plowman, "estimated that about three-quarters of the 750,000 negatives kept in the film library had been damaged. The collection had been built up over 10 years.
A passer-by saw water pouring from the first-floor office and called the Fire Service.
