Mr Storey re-elected

Farm editor The Dominion President ot Federated Farmers. Mr W. R. Storey, has been reelected unopposed for another year as the leader of New Zealand’s farmers. Mr Storey said after his re-election that he likened his position to that of the captain of a ship which was headed for the rocks. “You can always have a court-martial after the ship hits the rocks but it is inadvisable to change captain at that point," he said. “But we are going to avoid

the rocks,” he said. He then thanked delegates to the federation's Dominion conference in Wellington yesterday for the confidence they had expressed in him. The conference debated in committee a motion of the Wanganui province concerning possible conflicts of interest of federation officeholders. Earlier this year, Mr Storey had publicly defended his position as a director of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company while he was Dominion president of Federated Farmers.
