Irish Oaks to English filly

NZPA-Reuter Ireland An English filly, Swiftfoot, owned by Lord Rotherwick and ridden by Willie Carson, won the Irish Guinness Oaks run over one and a half miles at the- Curragh on Saturday. The favourite, an Irish filly called Prince’s Polly, finished three lengths behind in second place, with another English filly, Rosananti, a further three lengths back in third place. Wally Swinbum rode Prince’s Polly and Pat Eddery was on Rosananti. ' Swiftfoot, a bay filly by Run the Gauntlet out of Whitefoot by Relko, is trained by Dick Hem at West flsley, Berkshire.

The race was worth $NZ204,654, with the winning owner receiving $NZ137,416.
