S.I. snow reports
South Island ski-fields all benefited from the southerly con-, ditions on Wednesday and have reported fresh falls of snow, according to the New Zealand Snow Centre. Snow conditions issued by the centre at noon yesterday were:— Mount HutL— Last fair 10cm July 14; packed powder, some icy patches; all facilities operating except chair; chains to be fitted. Porter Heights.— Last fall 10cm July 14; powder on upper slopes, groomed lower; all facilities operating; chains to be fitted. Tekapo.— Base 20cm; fall of 3cm July 14; packed,' groomed snow; all facilities operating; chains to be carried. Harris Mountains hell-ski— Base of 50 to 100 cm; last fall
3cm July 14; 35cm new snow over last three days; operated by Ski Guides N.Z., Ltd, ex Wanaka. Treble Cone— Base of 25cm; last fall 3cm July 14; wind-blown powder on firm base; all facilities operating; chains required. Tasman Glacier.— Last fall 10cm July 14; ski planes operating subject to weather. Cardrona.— Last fall 3cm; wind-blown powder, all facilities operating; chains required; field 1 hour from Queenstown and '/z hour Wanaka. Amuri.— Base of 75cm; fall of 3cm July 14; all facilities operating except poma; chains required. Broken River— Fresh snow overnight; all facilities operating; chains required. Temple Basin.— Last fall 20cm July 14; chains required.
