Third Minto trial order
PA " ’ Auckland An Auckland District Court judge yesterday ordered a third trial for the anti-apartheid movement leader, John Bernard Minto, after a jury failed to reach a verdict on two charges of unlawful assembly. Judge Nicholson ordered the new trial when the jury
could not reach a verdict after about five hours of deliberation. . •_ - , In March, Judge Richardson had ordered a new trial when a jury could not reach a verdict after about six hours of deliberation. Judge Nicholson remanded Minto, aged 29, to August 4 for a new trial date to be set.
