Goal-kicking finalists
Three Sydenham players are among the six lo qualify for (he final of the senior section of the Hallensteins rugby goal-kicking competition. The three arc Brent N'icoll. Bill' Nicholson and Peter Hunter. The other (hree lor the final rounds . at Lancaster Park on Sunday week are Philip Beecroft (Lyttelton). Dave Bowick (New Brighton) and Stephen McCormick (Marist). The under-21 and under-16 eliminations were also held on Sunday and the six finalists in each arc:-Under-21-Jonathon Gurnsey (Christ s College). Peter Manson

Michael Dorreen (Sydenham). Scott Barclay (St Andrew's). Dean McLaughlin (Xavier). Alan Smith and Graham Bachop (both Linwood). It' is planned to finalise each section at Lancaster Park south before the Canterbury-Waikato match on Sunday week, with the winners giving an exhibition on the oval just before the main game starts..
