Meeting on refinery

PA Whangarei ( The Federation of Labour and the joint-venture expanding the Marsden Point oil refinery, JVII, hope to meet soon to discuss the question of overseas labour for- the job. The president of the :F 0.L.. Mr W. J. Knox, on Monday made a brief call on ' the industrial relations manager for the. JVII consortium, Mr Ron Richards. It was decided that a meeting on the matter should be arranged soon. The F.O.L. has said it will not tolerate the use of overseas labourers on the $lO5O million expansion project until New Zealanders have been accommodated. JVII had advertised overseas for workers, but said it had done so to gauge the labour market.
